Facing David Price, and in the most important series of the season to date, the Yankees are having battery trouble. With Gary Sanchez on the shelf and now the durable Austin Romine a question mark, things could get dicey in The Bronx.
Compound that with the fact that the club one again has a Sonny Gray problem, the likelihood of adding a quality arm to the rotation is growing with every recent series.
As of now, Gray can’t be trusted either at home or against the Red Sox. As Joe Girardi was fond of saying “Not exactly what you want.”.

By now just about every starting pitcher not on the Red Sox roster has been speculated about in trade possibilities, so we’re not going to clutter the Internets with one more. We’ll let GM Brian Cashman do what he does best. And don’t be surprised if he shocks the world … again.
Draft Kings Strateegery
While there is the argument that Chris Sale’s performance yesterday could put the Yankees offense in a funk, the truth is they were already in a funk — by Bronx Bomber standards, at least.
The Yankees are 15-2 over the last 17 games started by Luis Severino straight up and 11-6 against the spread.
Yesterday’s 11-0 beatdown was highly uncharacteristic of this matchup in general, as the Sox have dropped 5 of their last 7 games played in The Bronx.
That said, Severino’s number one nemesis on Boston is outfielder Andrew Benintendi, who is 9-19 including 2 home runs, 2 doubles and 1 triple.
Depending on Roman’s status, look for Boston to test Kyle Higashioka on the base paths. Although the Sawx are not a running team, they may look to expose that.

On the other hand, there are a handful of Yankees who probably chipped in for a limo to make sure Price gets to The Stadium tonight. Here’s a sampling:

Gary Sanchez would be covering most of the limo cost if he were playing. The Kracken has 5 home runs off Price in 12 at-bats.
