Dallas Keuchel vs. The Yankees

Which Dallas Keuchel shows up tonight at The Stadium? The one that has a 2-0 post-season record against the Yankees with a 0.00 ERA? Or the one that was roughed up enough to earn his first loss against the Bronx Bombers on May 2nd of this year?
Giancarlo Stanton — who is in need of a big game at the plate — crushed 2 home runs off Keuchel in that game, while Luis Severino held down the defending champs with a complete game shutout, striking out 10 in the process.
Stanton also doubled against the left-hander, as did Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks and Austin Romine. Keuchel was tagged with the loss, which brought his record to an inexplicable 1-5 at the time. He has improved to 3-6 since, but still odd to see him underwater like this.

Pitching

Luis Severino ($16,600 / remember, it’s ‘Showdown’ mode!). The New York Yankees ace is overdue for another stellar outing like he turned in the last time he faced Houston.
First Base

Tyler Austin ($5,000). A no-brainer given the fact Austin crushes lefties. Nice move by Boone!
UPDATE: We originally had Greg Bird at first, but Austin was announced with the official lineup.
Second Base

Gleyber Torres ($7,900). The legend just keeps growing. Last night’s clutch. walk-off single in the 10th inning was pure Torres — a disciplined, no-panic at-bat where he made the adjustment on a pitch that dusted the outer half of the plate, and took it to right field for the game winner.
Outfield

Giancarlo Stanton ($9,000). Mired in a bad slump, Stanton is hoping lightening strikes twice for him against Keuchel. It’s a risky pick, but your lineup is gold if it pays off.

Marwin Gonzalez ($4,600). The price is right thanks to a prolonged slump, but there are signs the slugging outfielder is snapping out of it. Small sample but he seems to see Severino well, and could launch one if Sevy goes to sleep on him. Plus, you’re required to draft at least one player from the opposing team.
Bullpen/Closer

Aroldis Chapman ($3,300). Blowouts by either club are rare in Yankees vs. Astros matchups, so drafting a closer is not a bad strategy. We’re feeling the pinstripes will feed off of their stunning victory last night and keep the line moving, so the services of Chapman should be required.
Remember this is for speculation only, not meant to be taken as gospel. We exist under the manta that “You can’t predict baseball” but it’s fun trying. Good luck with your lineup and let’s go Yankees!
Memory Lane
May 29, 1998 — The visiting Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox behind 7 tidy innings from David Cone, who improved to a 7-1 record. Knocking across runs for the Bombers where Paul O’Neil (2), Chuck Knobklauch (2) and Joe Girardi (2). The Yanks and Red Sox would split their 4-game series, and the Yankees would win their next 9 in a row to post a 46-13 mark, including a 25-5 record at home.
