- CC Sabathia With Sabathia’s well-documented struggles pitching at home, The Big Man rebounded nicely from a shaky first frame to hold the Halos in check until he was ejected after the 5th inning. In the process he picked up his 2,500th career strikeout, only the 9th lefty in MLB history to reach that mark.
- Brett Gardner Gardy went yardy for the eventual game winning hit in the bottom of the 5th inning, clubbing a 3-run homer to right off Halos starter CJ Wilson.
- Jose Pirela Pirela clubbed his first major league home run in the 7th inning off (pitcher). The ball landed in the Halos bullpen, so it’s a good bet he got to keep it.
- Chris Young Young added a solo home run in the good sign that he’s coming around after a prolonged funk at the plate.
