The St. Louis Cardinal’s franchise was a charter member of the National League, established in 1892, but began life as the ‘St. Louis Perfectos‘. In 1900, the team name was officially changed to the ‘Cardinals’. They are second only to the New York Yankees in World Series titles with 11, and boast 19 NL pennants and 12 divisional titles on their resume.
World Series match ups between the Yankees and Cardinals? There were five, and here’s the breakdown:
