  • Michael Pineda   Big Mike is back! “When I have my slider, it’s tough for the hitters” Pineda said in a post-game interview. And he is correct. He was throwing it well today, getting more swings and misses than his two previous outings, which didn’t go well.
  • Chase Headley  Flashin’ the leather with two great stops at third base in the first inning. Saved at least one run! Here’s the second one on a blast off the bat of Eric Hosmer.
  • Brian McCann   Another Yankee Stadium home run, this one just inside the left field foul pole.
  • Alex Rodriguez   A-Rod’s three-run blast, his 11th of the season, puts him at 1,995 career RBIs, moving him past Lou Gehrig on the all-time RBI list.

“I feel pretty good. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how my body is reacting on the everyday, daily grind and so far, so good. In a weird way, the time off was a blessing in disguise.” ‐ Alex Rodriguez  (h/t: Mike Zacchio/LoHud)

  • Didi Gregorius   Enough with the acrobatics! His highlight reel is quickly becoming a blooper reel. An ill advised toss to first in the 8th cost a run, closing the score to 4-2 Yanks, but it was an unearned one, keeping Dellin Betances with a 0.00 ERA.
