The 69th Annual Old Timer’s Day : No organization in professional sports other than the New York Yankees can pull off an event like this in the first place, but today’s celebration was one for the books. A much deserved love-fest for 1970s-80s Yankee great and Brooklyn’s own Willie Randolph, and an emotional, unannounced, surprise Monument Park plaque ceremony for Mel Stottlemyre which left not a dry eye in the house.
