Mark Teixeira homers on a line drive to left field in the bottom of the 16th.

Game 4 | 1-3, T-4th : If games like this keep up, there may be some hope for reigniting the greatest rivalry in sports. The Yankees came off the mat from a 3-0 deficit to tie it with 2 outs in the 9th, on a dramatic Chase Headley no-doubter to the second deck in right field.
New York’s vaunted bullpen kept Boston off the board for 10 innings until David Ortiz crushed a hanging curveball from Esmil Rogers for a 4-3 lead in the 16th. Batting from the right side, Mark Teixeira opened the home half with a rocket to the left field seats, knotting the marathon at 4 runs apiece.

The Red Sox scored again in the top of the 18th, only to be answered again by the Yankees in the bottom of the inning. Boston put up yet another run in the 19th, but the Yank’s magic ran out — as Jacoby Ellsbury opened with a sharp single to right, followed by a Brett Gardner fly out, then a game-ending double play grounder to second by Garrett Jones.
