After this weekend’s three game series in Arlington against the Texas Rangers, the Yankees will wind up the 2017 campaign mostly at home and mostly against division opponents. With the move of the series scheduled for Tampa to Citi Field, the Bombers will now play 17 of their last 20 games in The Big Apple.
With the exception of a three set against the Minnesota Twins starting on September 18th, and makeup game against the Kansas City Royals on the 25th (both at The Stadium), the Yankees chances of a Wild Card slot and/or division title will be determined by their play against AL East teams.

Sixteen of their remaining 20 games are against American League East opponents —

  • 6 games against Tampa (3 at Citi Field*, 3 home)
  • 4 games at home against Baltimore
  • 6 games against Toronto (3 home, 3 at Rogers Centre)

* With Hurricane Irma bearing down on the entire Sunshine State, MLB has moved the series from Tropicana to Citi Field (September 11,12 and 13th). Saw a brutal tweet: “Finally, some meaningful September baseball at Citi Field.” Ouch. Outside of Lucas Duda coming back to his old stomping grounds, we’re thinking is definitely favors the Yanks, avoiding The House Of Horrors at a critical time.
