Baltimore Orioles versus New York Yankees : Moiderer's Row

With some familiar faces gone and hopefully a few holes patched, Masahiro Tanaka takes the bump as the New York Yankees host the pesky Baltimore Orioles for two games starting tonight before departing for the big showdown in Boston.

Although Masahiro Tanaka ($10,300) has had mixed results at Camden Yards, he has been pitching well of late and the fact that the O’s lineup is missing Manny Machado and Johnathan Schoop does not hurt. Although Tanaka does have to keep an eye on outfielder Adam Jones ($4,100), who has clubbed 3 home runs and a pair of doubles off him, going 11-30 (.367 BA). For a Baltimore value pick, outfielder Joey Rickard ($2,800) could be your best investment of the contest. Rickard usually gives the Yankees fits.

Yefry’s Second Shot At The Yanks

On June 9th, Yefry Ramirez ($5,300) made this third career major league start, drawing the Yankees, and promptly got it handed to him. The pinstripes knocked the young right-hander around to the tune of 4 earned runs, 2 walks and 9 hits in 4 innings, taking the loss in the game ultimately won 10-2 by New York.

Since that outing, Ramirez has lost three consecutive starts, failing to get past the 5th inning in each — but pitched well in each start. He has kept walks to a minimum and allowed only 4 earned runs over the three starts. Ramirez is tough on right-handed batters (.196 BA) but the opposing BA in general rises dramatically each time around the batting order, with hitters raking at a .500 clip by the third plate appearance.

Yanks To Stack

Brett Gardner ($4,400), Giancarlo Stanton ($4,900), Didi Gregoruis ($4,900) and Greg Bird ($4,200) are on our list tonight. Thanks to trade deadline moves, the Orioles bullpen is also not a even previous strength, so the hits should just keep coming for New York tonight.

Remember this is for speculation only, not meant to be taken as gospel. And don’t forget to double-check your lineup(s) just prior to game time as the weather may create havoc for you. We exist under the manta that “You can’t predict baseball” but it’s fun trying. Good luck with your lineup and let’s go Yankees!
