Game 9 : For the third consecutive three-game series, the Yankees registered one win and two losses. A few more results like this and it’ll be getting late early. Number four starter Nathan Eovaldi left with a 3-2 lead after 5 innings, but the bullpen gave up a 5-spot in the bottom of the sixth to give Baltimore a 7-3 lead.
The Yanks made it interesting with 2 runs in the 8th to make the score 7-5, and did manage to bring the go-ahead run to the plate in the ninth, but no heroics would occur. Here’s the box score.

Orioles 7, Yankees 5

The Good

  • Nathan Eovaldi   The Yanks need more length from Eovaldi, but he is showing promise. The power-pitching righty registered 9 strikeouts in 5 innings, while issuing 3 walks and allowing 8 hits.
  • A-BOMB   An absolute rocket from Alex Rodriguez, deep into the left seats.

“That one felt amazing off the bat. We’ve shown flashes of good things in all four facets of our game. The key for us is to collectively get them all working in the same direction, get them in sync. Once we do that we can get on a roll.” — Alex Rodriguez
