GAME 125: Brandon McCarthy figured out how to get around the Yankees anemic offense — keep the opponent off the scoreboard. The righty tossed a complete game, shutout masterpiece, striking out 8 while allowing only 4 hits. With 107 pitches (79 for strikes), McCarthy improved to 5-2 with New York, lowering his ERA to 1.90. Chase Headley (2 RBI) and Ichiro (1 RBI) provided the offense. Here’s the box score and recap.
Yanks Have to Resign McCarthy
A no-brainer. Whatever needed fixin’ in McCarthy’s mechanics is fixed, and his performances have literally kept the Yankees slim post-season chances alive. As Deion Sanders would say “Pay the man!”. McCarthy MUST remain in pinstripes in 2015!
TRADE CHATTER: MLB Trade Rumors reports that Jon Lester’s return to the Red Sox is unlikely, and the Yankees and Cubs are possible frontrunners.
