Game 72 | 39-33, 2nd : Just when the Yankees starting rotation needed it most, they got a lights out outing from Ivan Nova in a 10-2 romp over the Phillies to avoid a sweep at the hands of the worst team in major league baseball.

  • Alex Rodriguez   The milestones and household names keep getting knocked off the list in A-Rod’s resurgent 2015 season. His 2 RBI single in the seventh inning moved him past Al Kaline for sole possession of 27th place on the career hits list with 3,008.
  • When Things Go Right   They go right. Didi Gregoruis, who has been lights out in the field and finding his groove at the plate as of late, was awarded with some divine intervention on this one:
  • Everybody Is Pushed To The Limit   Kudos to Joe for going off on this one. Bad umpin’ is bad enough when you’re going good, but when things are going sideways you don’t need any help from bad officiating. Girardi was having none of this today.
