It has been said that teams other than the Rays and Mets actually exist in major league baseball, but its hard to verify from the Yankees schedule.

This afternoon’s Subway Series makeup game is a rematch of the August 29th tilt in The Bronx that pitted Robert Gsellman for the Mets against J.A. Happ.

FANTASY MLB STRATEGY FOR TODAY’S GAME

DRAFTKINGS CONTEST : Lineup tips and player salaries are for the MLB $3K Quarter Jukebox, a ‘Classic’ rules contest featuring 6 games, starting at 4:05pm EST, 1:05am Pacific Time.

THE WISE GUYS : The oddsmakers favor the hometown Mets today, with a moneyline consensus Mets -120, Yankees +100, and an Over/Under of 9.5.

WEATHER : They’ll try to get this one in before showers hit Flushing Meadows starting about 7pm. Game-time temps are expected to be 86° under cloudy skies, with 7mph winds blowing out to left field. 12mph and a humidity level of 39%.

MATCHUPS : The Mets are sending out right-hander Robert Gsellman ($5,500) who will be making his second start of 2020 against the Yankees. He did not factor in the decision of August’s 29th tilt in Yankee Stadium, won by the Yankees 2-1. He pitched 4 innings, allowing 1 ER, a home run by first baseman Luke Voit ($3,900).

Gsellman needs to be careful with Voit and 2B DJ LeMahieu ($4,300).

The Yankees will start J.A. Happ ($8,90), coming off his solid outing against the Mets. With the rotation in rough shape, this is another crucial start for the veteran lefty. Gumby was a mess yesterday and the club can’t afford to lose more ground to the Rays if they want to even think about home field advantage. While Happ is 0-0, the Yanks have won 3 of his 4 starts so far.

Happ needs to watch out for C Robinson Chirinos ($3,500) and 2B Robinson Cano ($4,000).
