Domingo German began the month of May with a lights out performance on the road against the Houston Astros, taking over for Jordan Montgomery in the second inning. Over the next 4 frames he matched zeros with Justin Verlander, and helped position the Yankees for a dramatic 4-run 9th inning by New York and a stunning victory.
Big things were expected after that, but German is yet to follow up on that outing with anything close in terms of dominance. He gets another shot tonight in Detroit against a scrappy Tigers lineup that is fighting to get to .500.
We going to stay away from German for at least another start, but he needs an improved outing and he should have one against a sub-.500 team.

Yankees & MLB Fantasy Roundup for Monday, June 4, 2018

The following suggestions are for the 4:10pm EST time slot of contests, which include the second half of the Yankees-Tigers double-header matchup.

Derek Holland ($5,600). Here’s a flyer for a value pick tonight that could turn into a gem. The left-hander has been showing signs of getting it together for the Giants — who have had a mini-string of outstanding pitching performances of late — and could catch a reeling Diamondbacks squad on their heels at AT&T Park tonight.

Buster Posey ($4,000). The All-Star backstop is finally heating up for the Giants, to the tune of a .296 BA, 2 home runs and 6 RBI over the last 7 games. Posey hits Arizona pitching well (.283 BA over 205 career ABs).

Neil Walker ($3,500). In Draft Kings, you’ll have to take Walker at first base, but it’s worth the confusion. He’s 9-22 (.409 BA) with a home run and 3 doubles against Fiers.

Gleyber Torres ($4,900). Although starting at shortstop in place of a resting Didi Gregorius, in Draft Kings you’ll have to select Torres at second base tonight. He homered in the first game and will be facing Mike Fiers for the first time tonight. The signifigance of that is nothing, as Torres makes adjustments to pitches in mid-stride during ABs, so we’re not expecting him to be fooled at the plate.

Brett Gardner ($4,700) Gardy has been smoking’-hot this past week (.421 BA) with a pair of home runs and most importantly his grind ’em out at-bats are back in full force. While he is still looking for his first HR in Comerica Park and is only 2-11 against DET starter Mike Fiers, he is enjoying .324 BA in the park — and don’t forget his stolen base ability that always helps your DKFP tally!

Aaron Judger ($5,800). Judge has a home run and double off Fiers in 8 ABs, and is looking for his first career home run in Comerica Park, so why not tonight?
Remember this is for speculation only, not meant to be taken as gospel. We exist under the manta that “You can’t predict baseball” but it’s fun trying. Good luck with your lineup and let’s go Yankees!
