The floodgates of free agency have officially opened, and the Yankees are “open to anything” according to GM Brian Cashman. The club has three free agents — Chris Capuano, Stephen Drew and Chris Young, of which none received a qualifying offer. Anything could happen, but it’s likely all have donned pinstripes for the final time.
Writer superb Chad Jennings (LoHud) has compiled a team-by-team list of who’s available and who could be on the team’s radar. A must read. One observation in particular jumped out — Darren O’Day — that could be the final piece of the three-headed monster Yankee fans have been dreaming about.

The prognosticating is already in full force around the Web, and don’t miss great daily updates from Pinstripe Alley, River Avenue Blues, and of course LoHud for starters.

NEWS & NOTES : CC Sabathia appeared on ABC-TV’s Good Morning America (view video here) yesterday to to discuss his treatment and recovery from his bout with the bottle. The YES Network has the story here. We’re all pulling for The Big Man, and looking forward to seeing him in Spring Training. A year older and wiser, it will be interesting to see what adjustments he’ll be making on the mound, and how the club utilizes him…
