The Yankees go quietly into that good night against the upstart Houston Astros in the Wild Card Game at Yankee Stadium on October 6, 2015

Postseason Game 1 (Wild Card) / 0-1 / 1 and Done : It’s not like you couldn’t see this coming a mile away, but any false hope of the Yankees snapping out of their two month-long funk was evident before the bartender got back around to you for a second beer. Same old story — no offense, just enough ‘mistake’ pitches by the starter to lose, yadda, yadda, yadda. We’ll put a full 2015 season autopsy together over the coming days, but for right now it’s time to exhale. Let’s face it — even if the Yankees somehow squeaked out a win tonight and advanced to play Kansas City, that would be nothing less than a humiliating sweep waiting to happen. It’s officially New York Football Giants season, with the Rangers right behind. Not sure if the Knicks are still around, but we’ll report back as soon as we hear something.

Here’s the final box score of the 2015 season, full recap, and video lowlights.

Hot Stove Starts Now

Autumn is in full swing — a pinstripe-less one, more’s the pity — but no time to wallow in the mire. Putting the 2016 Opening Day lineup card begins right about now…
Stay tuned!
